Runaround Woods DGC’s original layout (The Fox) completed in July 2024 is short and technical, offering ace runs and challenging lines for players of all skill levels. Starting atop a hill of ledge, you will weave through the evergreens and ravines, taking in the the wonder of Durham’s forest. RWDGC is a great place to run the chains with friends or come out for a solo round to hone your gap accuracy and control.
For the 2025 & 2026 seasons we will be offering year round access to members and seasonal access to the public for $5/day from 10/15/25 - 5/15/26. Members are always able to bring guests as long as they pay green fees in the honor box. Membership can be purchased at the Runaround Woods office or by contacting ryanmcqueeney716@gmail.com directly. The $200 Founding Membership earns you disc golf until 12/31/26, reserved entry to any events, the ability to host/organize events, half off cabin rentals in the off-season (9/15-11/15 & 4/1-5/31), and sauna access on Saturdays from 10:30am - 4:30 PM (only in October, November, March, and April).
From October - December and March - May all members can play in the weekly dubs ace race (3 drives per player) every Tuesday from 4-6 where metal is sure to be drawn by most teams. Every first Sunday of the month we will also host a 2 round “Cali” singles tournament from 11-3.
The current layout (The Fox) will be the eventual winter layout with a goal of having the longer layout (The Crow) ready to play by the 2026 season. The Crow will feature 4 new holes and will combine 4 fox holes to allow for more use of drivers.

Each cabin has 1 parking spot allocated for it and if you rent the whole grounds 6 spots can be made available. Should you need an additional spot let me know. At this time, no pets are allowed, however I do have a very friendly dog that lives with me on property. If you have any questions please contact me.
As a guest, you not only get access to the 18-hole disc golf course and 1.5 miles of trails, but you can make use of the rustic spa to start or end your day. This features:
I am happy to set it up for you and/or show you how to get things started.
In the common area, you will find:
There is a porta potty in the driveway to be used as the primary toilet and 2 covered camping toilets for number ones or urgent bathroom needs if the porta potty is busy. Additionally, horseshoes is set up in the woods at the end of the main trail by the hole 9 pit stop.
Each cabin’s outdoor shower uses a solar heated bag that can be refilled with hot water from the chemical free waters of the hot tub or can be taken down and left in more direct sunlight during the day to warm up. Upon request, there is also a shower with a pump that can be dropped into the hot tub or a bucket of warm water for increased water pressure.
Remember - you are essentially camping, but just happen to have a great place to sleep and recreate.
Beware that occasionally the directions or GPS will take you to 316 or 344 Runaround Pond Rd - We are 334 Runaround Pond Rd, and there will be a double mailbox with a 334 sign underneath. As you go up the hilly driveway you should see a “Runaround Woods” sign on the right side about halfway up. Once at the top please park in the designated cabin spots to ensure the driveway and other parking remains available as needed. Please see photo for reference of the driveway.
